Testing

The Tsunami Barrier's principle was elaborately tested in the hydraulic laboratory of the university Hogeschool Zuid in Holland by creating identical tsunami wave circumstances. The testing took place in a gutter measuring 12 meters in lenght and a rising bottom in a proportion of 1 : 24. The Barrier was tested several times at various distances from the virtual coast line in various water depths. In each tested depth the Barrier worked perfectly. The tsunami flood wave not only broke down against the Barrier but was reflected in its opposite direction whilst the 'coastal'  water behind the Barrier remained calm.
